Culturally Tailored Nutrition Education Materials for Sound Generations’ Community Food Bag Program
Created and delivered nutrition education sessions and accompanying handouts to explain how cultural food items can be used to manage Diabetes. Nutrition education sessions and handouts were translated into relevant languages and delivered to Ethiopian and Tongan Senior Centers in Seattle to empower older adults to make informed choices about nutrition and chronic disease management. This project was an extension of Sound Generations’ Community Food Bag and Community Dining programs, which improve access to culturally relevant food in historically underserved communities.
