A Cleft Palate Post-Surgery Recipe Book

The Washington State Department of Health – Children & Youth with Special Healthcare Needs (CYSHCN) Program connects systems of care for families to help children with special needs stay healthy and thrive in their communities. CYSHCN clients include those who have or are at an increased risk for chronic, physical, developmental, behavioral, or emotional conditions and require health and other services beyond those typically needed by children. Children with cleft-lip-palate (CLP) conditions are part of the many CYSHCN who deal with feeding difficulties. This project focused on helping to better meet the nutritional needs of children who recently had CLP repair surgery by creating n up-to-date recipe book for these families that provided tips and simple nutrient-dense recipes.
