Assessing Resilience in Washington Agriculture: Impacts of COVID-19 on Farms and Ranches
Through interviews and surveys of farmers, ranchers, agricultural service providers, and other stakeholders, the project team is seeking to better understand the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on farms and ranches in Washington State, and the capacity of farm businesses to adapt to the disruption.
Key to understanding these dynamics is the online WA Farm COVID-19 Survey that examines the ways in which COVID-19 has impacted farmers and ranchers of all types and sizes throughout Washington. Information gathered from this survey is expected to inform recovery from the current crisis, and to identify strategies to enhance the resilience of Washington agriculture to future challenges. This project is being carried out through collaboration between University of Washington, Washington State University, and the Washington State Department of Agriculture.
The survey is now closed. Initial results are available through the resources listed below.
