WAFOOD Brief 4 – Economic Security and Food Access During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Clark County
Published October 30, 2020, this brief report assesses income/food assistance, food security, and food access before and since the COVID-19 pandemic from June to July 2020 among Clark County residents.
Initial Findings
A total of 240 Clark County residents responded to the WAFOOD survey comprising 9% of the 2,621 statewide respondents. This brief provides a snapshot of Clark County participant responses, including alarmingly high rates of food insecurity (49-58%) in lower income Clark County households and in Clark County households with children. Stimulus checks were received by 83% of Clark County households and unemployment benefits were sought by 28% of Ckark County households in our sample.
