Impacts of the Seattle Sweetened Beverage Tax on Perceived Healthfulness of Sweetened Beverages

This study analyzes pre-tax and post-tax survey data collected from Seattle and comparison area residents to compare differences in the perceived healthfulness of sweetened beverage consumption and drink types over time and across income groups.

The Association of Food Insecurity and Disordered Eating Behaviors Among Youth and Young Adults with Diabetes: The SEARCH for Diabetes in Youth Study

This study examines the relationship between household food insecurity (i.e., access to nutritionally adequate and safe food) and disordered eating behaviors (i.e., restriction, bingeing, insulin manipulation, etc.) among a sample of youth and young adults with youth-onset type 1 or type 2 diabetes.


Weight Bias in Clinical Care: Assessment of an Interprofessional Session for Health Sciences Students

This study assesses the impact of an educational session on weight stigma among health profession students. The results of a pre- and post-session survey suggest a change in the level of empathy and awareness as it relates to body weight and health, and an understanding that body weight is not an appropriate indicator of health.
