Type 1 Diabetes Flyer: Signs and Symptoms, and Resources

The Washington State Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) workgroup is composed of coordinators from the WA Department of Health Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) Department, registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs), certified diabetes care and education specialists (CDCES), endocrinologists, and parents and youth with T1D, among other individuals. This group requested a one-page handout outlining the most common signs and symptoms of T1D to share with pediatricians, other healthcare providers, schools, daycares, and family members of children and youth with T1D. The flyer was also translated into Spanish, and included articles written by Spanish speakers with relevance to the Latinx community. Additionally, a resource page was created that aimed to provide simple and concise information (often written by other healthcare professionals and individuals with T1D) to help understand the basics of the disease.
